Snooz Sound Machine

healthy christmas gift ideas snooz white noise machine

I got a Snooz sound machine for Christmas last year and it has been a game-changer for my sleep.

It sounds like a big box fan, but takes up a tiny fraction of the space. I use it at home every night, and I also bring it with me on trips so I can drown out nearby noise. It contains a full-spectrum white noise sound to help you fall asleep and stay asleep, and you can adjust the tone and volume.

For the foodie:

Thunderbird Bars

These bars are are a favorite of mine, and a favorite amongst my family, friends, followers and clients.

Thunderbird bars contain the perfect blend of low-glycemic carbs from dried fruit and healthy fats plus protein from nuts and seeds.

It’s super hard to pick a favorite, but I’m partial to all the flavors that include espresso or chocolate.

Mayawell

mayawell prebiotic soda healthy christmas gift ideas

I’m always learning new things, and this year I learned about a prebiotic fiber called agavin. This prebiotic derived from agave is incredible. Research shows agavin can help support the gut microbiome , regulate appetite, boost weight loss , reduce inflammation , and even protect the brain from oxidative stress.

I typically don’t drink carbonated drinks, but I really enjoyed this sparkling soda. It contains 5 grams of the agavin prebiotic and only 4 grams of sugar. They have fun flavors like Pear Lime Green Tea and Pineapple Mango Turmeric – my favorite has to be Strawberry Ginger Hibiscus.

I bet these would make a delicious mixer for some festive cocktails too.

Truvani is USDA certified organic, contains a blend of whole food plant-based protein sources, is sweetened with a touch of monk fruit (no weird aftertaste), and it’s gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free.

This protein powder would be perfect in my paleo Wendy’s Frosty recipe.

Hario Cold Brew Tea

They have lots of different sizes, and plenty of colors to choose from so you can pick the perfect bottle for whoever you’re gifting to.

This toner is Primally Pure’s number one product, and I can see why.The name says it all – this toner does just about everything, and everyone’s skin would benefit. The toner balances your skin’s pH, reduces inflammation, calms irritation, and gives your skin a dewy glow.

I spray this toner all over my face before applying my serum/moisturizer, and I sometimes spray during the day as a skin pick-me-up.

Make sure to check out last year’s blog for my other favorites from this awesome, non-toxic brand.

Kitchen essentials:

Chef’s Knife

chefs knife healthy christmas gift ideas

Trying to put together a meal with a crappy knife if like trying to paint a masterpiece with Crayons. It’s really difficult, and really frustrating.

My parents gifted me an 8-inch, high-quality chef’s knife a few years ago when I started getting into cooking, and I can’t imagine cooking without it. I use this knife for 90% of my cooking – it’s a gift that keeps on giving.

This knife is pricey (but honestly worth every penny since it lasts a lifetime), so if you want to spend a little less you could get this knife which is by the same brand but at a lower price point.

Berkey Water Filter

berkey water filter healthy christmas gift ideas

Our water is lurking with heavy metals, chemicals, and even medication. My Berkey water filter filters out over 200 contaminants and ensures I’m drinking pure, clean water that supports my health.

I have a “Big Berkey”, but they also have smaller and larger sizes available.

Berkey Stand

berkey wood stand healthy christmas gift ideas

This Berkey stand was such a steal. I scoured the internet for a simple wooden stand and found this gem on Amazon. Big fan.

Milk Frother

milk frother mudwatr whip healthy christmas gift ideas

I use this milk frother almost every single morning – either to blend my matcha or to blend some cinnamon or cacao into my coffee.

I’ve tried alot of different frothers and the mudwatr frother is hands-down my favorite. Plus, it’s USB rechargeable (yay for no disposable batteries!).

Glass Kettle

glass kettle healthy christmas gift ideas

I asked for a g lass kettle for Christmas last year, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s perfect for French press coffee, hot matcha lattes , and hot tea.

I did alot of research on different kettles, and glass came out on top. Plastic kettles can leach plastic into your hot water (ALL plastics are hormone disrupting, even BPA-free plastics) and it’s hard to see when stainless steel kettles need to be cleaned.

My glass kettle was super affordable on Amazon, it’s easy to use, and the design it simple and sleek so it looks great in any kitchen. They don’t carry my exact kettle anymore, but this one is super similar to what I own.

For the love of fitness:

Basis Electrolytes

basis electrolyte mix healthy christmas gift ideas

I don’t drink electrolyte drinks like Gatorade or Powerade because they are full of sugar and contain artificial colors (which can fuel food sensitivities and autoimmune conditions).

Most electrolyte powders out there contain a very small amount of electrolytes, and some contain too much sugar. Basis electrolytes contain the perfect ratio of sodium to potassium, and just enough sugar to allow the electolytes to effectively enter the cell.

Since incorporating electrolytes into my everyday life I not only notice better endurance in my workouts, but better energy and focus throughout the day as well (which makes sense because low electrolyte status = low energy)

My favorite flavors are cran raspberry and blackberry lemon, and I sometimes I add an extra squeeze of lemon.

Kettlebell

kettlebell healthy christmas gift ideas

A kettlebell makes for a killer workout and there are lots of weights to choose from, so you can use a kettlebell whether you’re a seasoned athlete or an exercise newbie.

They’re virtually indestructible, so it’s a gift that will keep on giving year after year.

Whoop Band

whoop band healthy christmas gift ideas

I don’t own a Whoop, yet!

I did alot of research on “wearables” and the Whoop band impressed me most. Whoop monitors your heart rate variability, sleep, and exercise to help you understand how your diet, exercise, and lifestyle affect your body’s ability to recover from the day. And they have a ton of colors so it’s easy to find something that’s just their style.

I heard they sometimes discount Whoop for Black Friday, so I’m planning on snagging a membership then.

I hope you enjoy these gifts as much as I do. Share with friends, share on social, and let me know what you think of these gifts if you decide to gift yourself something.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition that affects millions of women in the United States. PCOS results in debilitating symptoms, long term complications, and is one of the most common causes of infertility in the US. Sadly, for many women it takes years to finally get a diagnosis. For the women who do get diagnosed, they usually don’t know where to begin when it comes to addressing their PCOS naturally. I’ve worked with so many women who are just told to go on birth control to “fix” their PCOS. Birth control not only doesn’t fix PCOS - it can actually cause more issues! Although PCOS is a complex disorder, nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle changes can significantly slow its progression and reduce symptoms. In fact, many of my clients with PCOS have been able to put their PCOS in remission naturally. In this article, we’ll cover: What is PCOS? The role of hormones in PCOS Common signs and symptoms of PCOS Root causes of PCOS How to manage PCOS naturally Dietary and lifestyle changes for PCOS Where to go from here

Fifteen years ago, my digestive issues sparked my interest in gut health. I was amazed that there were thousands of research studies showing connections between our gut and the health of our immune system, our skin, our brain, and more. I was even more amazed that no one was talking about it! Now gut health is a hot topic, and I’m glad. Our gut health is at an all-time low because of antibiotics, processed food, high stress levels, pesticides, antibacterial soaps, and other gut damaging factors that are so prevalent in the modern world. If you’re unsure about your own gut health, start by asking yourself these three important questions.

The Grain-Free Pumpkin Bars You Need this Holiday Season
By Taylor Stolt, RDN, LD, CLT, IFNCP 16 Nov, 2023
I absolutely love cooking, but baking is something I rarely do. When I do decide to bake my goal is to make something delicious, with simple steps and minimal clean-up. Any time I'm in the kitchen I want it to be as relaxing as possible, especially around the Holidays. I created this pumpkin bar recipe years ago, but I come back to it again and again. You can quickly mix up these healthy pumpkin bars for a Thanksgiving dinner, Friendsgiving gathering, or sweet treat for yourself. But first - Is pumpkin a Fall fad or is it a healthy addition to our Fall recipes? Is pumpkin actually healthy? Here are some pumpkin nutrition highlights: Full of fiber: Fiber keeps you full, stabilizes blood sugars, supports estrogen metabolism, and regulates digestion. Loaded with vitamin A : One cup of pumpkin contains 245% of the daily recommended amount! Vitamin A prevents collagen breakdown (aka less wrinkles), supports thyroid function, increases iron absorption , and enhances the positive effects of vitamin D. Mineral-rich: Pumpkin is a rich source of magnesium, manganese, copper, phosphorus, zinc and iron. These minerals support energy production, promote hormone balance, keep your immune system in tip-top shape, and more. No, It’s not always healthy Yes, pumpkin is healthy. BUT don’t grab a slice of pumpkin bread and assume it’s automatically healthy. A slice of pumpkin bread from Starbucks has 40 grams of sugar.
